Week One
Hi, my name is Meaghan. I am an art therapy major at Albertus and I have always loved taking pictures. This will be my second digital photo class, and I have also taken one semester of dark room photography. I have always been interested in presenting my view of the world to others and I can use photography as a means to do so. My self portrait portrays a combination of my love for taking pictures, monsters, as well as using special effects makeup.
For this course, I would like to work on a few different topics for a few weeks at a time. For the first few weeks, I would like to focus on nature photography since I will have the chance to visit my aunt in Montana. I would love to photograph animals, landscapes, and beautiful mountains. I also have another idea for some weeks to follow to create more "creatures" using my special effects makeup. I already have some volunteers that I can zombie-fy! I also really enjoyed looking at high-speed photography and would like to pursue that as well. I feel breaking the course into smaller sections will help me develop my skills as a photographer even more. I am so excited to learn more!

Hi Meghan!
ReplyDeleteYou self portrait is both hilarious and scary at the same time... Where in Montana does you Aunt live? Sounds like a great place to do landscape photography... Check out this video on how to levitate someone.... He uses layer masks (as opposed to the erase tool that I might use)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q79GcFSwIAk
She lives in Big Sky, but we will also be traveling to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park! I watched the video as well and I can't wait to try some levitation pictures!
ReplyDeleteWonderful... Plenty of opportunities for some great landscape shots... it is good to plan ahead and look at what others have done then figure out what angle, light, focal length, etc to meet or exceed what you have seen... Google images is a good place to start and Flickr.com too... type Yellowstone and off you go....
